Waiting for Blazes

I did this painting from a live model and chose the title to reflect Molly Bloom waiting in sublime anticipation for the arrival of her lover for an afternoon tryst. She was having an extra marital affair with the impresario Blazes Boylan.

Leopold Bloom, her husband, was aware that there was more to the relationship than simply the musical which Boylan was getting up but he choose to turn a blind eye to the fact that he was cuckolded.
