Garryowen Rests

Artists Commentary:

Description

Garryowen is the name of the dog belonging to The Citizen in that part of James Joyces "Ulysses" set in Barney Kiernan's pub. This is a loose interpretation of the scene. In this sequence the customer is singing to the accompaniment of the guys playing the traditional Irish music while Garryowen rests in front of the fire on the stone slabs.

Chapter 12 - Cyclops - 4.45 to 5.45 PM - Barney Kiernan's Pub - Muscle.
