Celtic Warriors en route to Guntersville, Alabama, USA.

The second cell of Celtic Warriors are making their way to Guntersville, Alabama, where Nancy McAllister has everything in order. The new group consist of four and following what should not be too hazardous a journey expect to slip into town without much fuss.

The first cell of six were quickly taken in by Matrin Coles last December to his private residence in Seattle where they have settled and blended into the local community at Mercer Island.

These guys, in oil, came into being with a view to expressing the idea of the pre Christian warriors of Celtic origin. Of necessity it is required that ones imagination is used to interpret the outcome. The warriors would be high on enthusiasm and low on armory so I decided to give them a crude spear as their weapon. I placed them at strategic locations within their environment, primarily near natural rock formations that afforded some shelter and extra defensive cover, or indeed somewhere to hide. Some of this cover may have been manmade while others are considered natural. The appearance of the cross at this time suggests an area of torture and killing.

The warriors bear a certain naiveté as they are of a Neolithic era. Fresh imagery, vibrant colours and non-traditional perspective characterize their naivete. However, the Naïve style, with its childlike vision and artistic simplicity, is sometimes referred to as modern primitives, and this suits these guys to a tee. Naïve art invites us to participate in scenes suffused with vivid colours and bold shapes, inspiring wonder. To view my collection of Celtic Warrior Naïve art, please contact Nancy McAllister at FORTUNES ROCKS FINE ART; GUNTERSVILLE; ALABAMA; USA. Tell her the head honcho sent you and to stick on the kettle! These guys love a long chat! All sold. The four were sold in Guntersville. Thanks Nancy.

The third cell of these guys is now available: NEW, 2008.
